On Friday, we expressed concern that the weekend might prevent the mashup of Ja Rule with Wes Anderson slow-motion walking scenes from reaching peak memedom. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about: The Internet was fully capable of keeping the meme alive with a supercut of Anderson scenes set to the smooth, NSFW sounds of Drake. Steve Martin delivered some witty, off-the-cuff observations last night about the difference between Oscar hosts and Grammy hosts, only serving to get us more riled up that he won't be hosting the Academy Awards later this month. Meryl Streep's shoe fell off at the BAFTAs last night, but she didn't let that stop her from delivering a cogent acceptance speech. This is being hailed in some quarters as yet another example of Streep being a consummate professional, a theory we don't totally buy. Where would she be without the tireless support of presenter Colin Firth, who helped Streep retrieve the stray footwear? Yet she's the one getting all the post-BAFTA plaudits.
