Jury selection in Freddie Gray trial: The trial of William G. Porter, one of six police officers charged in the death of the Baltimore man, began today. All potential jurors in the case indicated they were familiar with the case that rocked the city last April.

Turkey stops migrants: The EU agreed on Sunday, among other things, to pay Turkey more than $3 billion to stem the flow of refugees and migrants heading to Europe. Today, Turkey apprehended some 1,300 people from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere who were trying to cross into Greece via the Mediterranean.

Obama at the Paris climate conference: The president said: “I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest emitter, to say that the United States of America not only recognizes our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.” Leaders from nearly 150 countries are attending the meeting.
