WellSpan air medical service moves to Lebanon County

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) — Wellspan’s WellFlight service is moving in the Midstate, relocating from its current base in Lancaster County to the Lebanon Emergency Dispatch Center.

Air Methods, which operates the service, announced on Thursday, April 4, that the WellFlight team will continue serving Lancaster County from the new public safety facility in Lebanon

“We are grateful for the relationship we built with East Cocalico Township and the Stevens Fire Department and are proud to be partnered with the Lebanon County Department of Emergency Services,” WellFlight Account Executive Ron Brown said. “With the relocation to Lebanon, there was no interruption of emergency service to the communities we serve. That is WellFlight’s testament and commitment to ensuring efficient and reliable service.”

The WellFlight service runs 24/7 and 365 days per year and transports patients in need of medical services, regardless of their ability to pay.

“We are very excited to be in Lebanon County and the opportunity to provide the community with advanced critical care when time matters most,” WellFlight Clinical Base Lead and Flight Nurse Bob Salvatico said. “We augment ground EMS with the ability to provide emergency blood transfusions, rapid and advanced airway management, as well as an expanded medication scope of care to treat patients on the scene just like they are in an intensive care unit (ICU). Additionally, we are positioned to ensure safe, rapid, and efficient transport to a variety of tertiary care hospitals in the region.”

The service operates jointly with its sister base in Gettysburg covering communities across Central Pennsylvania.
