Weinstein's email about Jennifer Aniston is truly horrific

From Cosmopolitan

Disgraced Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein, who was recently found guilty of rape (following multiple accusations), has once again hit headlines – this time, over a leaked email in which he reportedly said actress Jennifer Aniston (who skipped this year's Oscars) should "be killed".

A new report from The New York Times states that when a journalist approached Weinstein back in 2017, regarding a rumour that he had groped Aniston, he sent an email back on the 31 October saying “Jen Aniston should be killed” (believing that the accusations had come from the actress herself).

This email is part of a newly unsealed batch of documents that have been released ahead of Weinstein's sentencing (set to happen later on today).

The allegations that Weinstein groped or assaulted Aniston are categorically untrue, according to the star's rep. “The National Enquirer [the press outlet who were planning to run the story back October 2017] claims are false. Jennifer has not been harassed or assaulted by Harvey,” Stephen Huvane said, via an email to Variety yesterday afternoon.

It's thought these additional documents are comprised of over 1,000 pages, outlining Weinstein's panic and desperation as the allegations against him began to mount up. They show that Weinstein sent pleading cries for help to Jeff Bezos (the president of Amazon) and Tim Cook (the CEO of Apple), once he got wind that his company board were thinking of firing him amid the scandal.

“My board is thinking of firing me,” it's reported that Weinstein wrote. “All I’m asking for is, let me take a leave of absence and get into heavy therapy and counselling whether it be in a facility or somewhere else, and allow me to resurrect myself with a second chance.”
