Weezer to JID: San Diego music festival, Wonderfront, announces line-up

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego’s summer of concerts has begun to take shape, kicking off with the popular downtown music festival “Wonderfront” in May.

The three-day Wonderfront Music Festival will be returning to Waterfront Park from Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12 with an electrifying line-up of more than 80 artists from a wide range of genres — from rock and indie pop to Americana and reggae.

“Wonderfront 2024 is all about delivering an unparalleled experience that blends sensational performances with the vibrant energy of San Diego’s waterfront,” said Paul Thornton, the festival’s CEO. “We’re excited to showcase the hottest breakout artists and beloved industry veterans … in one of the most unique festival destinations on the planet.”

Headlining the jam-packed weekend will be rock band Weezer, singer-songwriter Beck, indie band Mt. Joy, alternative singer Dominic Fike, and rappers Kaytranada and JID.

Rounding out the festival line-up, which spans seven different stages, include the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, T-Pain, Dayglow, Channel Tres, Milky Chance, The Roots, Natasha Bedingfield, Marcus King, Steel Pulse, Bakar and more.

There will also be special appearances by Action Bronson with his band, Dr. Bachlava & the Human Growth Hormone, and Polo & Pan for a DJ set.

Tickets for the festival will be made available in a general sale on Friday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Weekend and single day passes, as well as VIP packages, are available.

Out-of-town festivalgoers will also be able to purchase a ticket and hotel travel package through Wonderfront this year, featuring discounts of up to $300 on hotel rates.
