Weezer announces Sacramento stop for 30th anniversary tour of debut album

(FOX40.COM) — Alternative rock band Weezer is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a tour that includes a stop in Sacramento.

The band will perform the album, often referred to as the “Blue Album,” in its entirety at the “Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour” at the Golden 1 Center on Oct. 8.

The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. will join Weezer as opening acts.

Songs such as “Buddy Holly” and “Say It Ain’t So” are two of the band’s standout hits from the album, which was released on May 10, 1994.

The tour begins at Saint Paul, Minnesota on Sept. 4 and will conclude at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood on Oct. 11. Weezer will perform at the Chase Center in San Francisco a day after the Golden 1 Center concert.

Tickets for the Sacramento concert go on sale to the general public on March 15 at 10 a.m. Tickets could be bought online at the Golden 1 Center and band’s websites. 

Fans can sign up for presale access by joining Weezer’s mailing list ahead of the presale on March 13 at noon. A presale for Citi cardholders will run from March 13 at 9 a.m. until March 14 at 10 p.m.
