Who is this week's Greer's Flooring America/C&P Student of the Week?
Greer's Flooring America and the Courier & Press are shining a light on the accomplishments and good deeds of local high school students.
We've asked officials from high schools in Evansville and the surrounding area to send nominations of a local student each week. If you want to vote for one of the students, go online to courierpress.com or visit the Courier & Press app. The Student of the Week poll will run from 5 a.m. Central on Monday through 9 a.m. Central on Thursday.
School officials can nominate students by emailing us each week at studentoftheweek@courierpress.com. Nominations will be accepted each week from Monday through Thursday.
This week's Greer's Flooring America Student of the Week nominees
Here are this week's nominees. All nominations are written by school staff members.
Kendall Krack, Central High School
Kendall is a great student, athlete, and person overall. Kendall volunteers consistently, donating hours of her time during the school year to helping others. She is a natural leader in the classroom and on the field. She does all of this while maintaining a high GPA in Central and the Academy of Science & Medicine. She also works part time at Bob's Gym, and excels in multiple varsity sports.
Ashley Lilleston, Mount Vernon High School
Ashley Lilleston is a kind, caring, and hardworking senior at Mount Vernon High School. She participates in track and cross county, and she is also an active member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Student Council, and FCA. Ashley embraces challenges and is a blessing to have in class. She works at the highest level every day. She deeply cares about her fellow classmates and the community, never hesitating to help those around her. Ashley plans to attend the University of Evansville in the fall to study Biochemistry in preparation for a career in Optometry.
Peyton Bell, North High School
North High School Summa Cum Laude senior while taking multiple Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes throughout high school. Peyton is a North wrestler where he was the 157 SIAC Champion, Sectional and Regional runner-up, Semi-State participant, and the Kiwanis Award receipt for North Wrestling. He is also a National Honor Society member and plays for the North Lacrosse team. Peyton is waiting on his acceptance to the Air Force or Naval Academies.
