Who is this week's Greer's Flooring America/C&P Student of the Week?
Greer's Flooring America and the Courier & Press are shining a light on the accomplishments and good deeds of local high school students.
We've asked officials from high schools in Evansville and the surrounding area to send nominations of a local student each week. If you want to vote for one of the students, go online to courierpress.com or visit the Courier & Press app. The Student of the Week poll will run from 4 a.m. Central on Monday through 9 a.m. Central on Thursday.
School officials can nominate students by emailing us each week at studentoftheweek@courierpress.com. Nominations will be accepted each week from Monday through Thursday.
This week's Greer's Flooring America Student of the Week nominees
Here are this week's nominees. All nominations are written by school staff members.
Addison Sorrell, North High School
Addison is a North High School summa cum laude senior while taking multiple Advanced Placement and Dual Credit classes throughout high school. Addison is a member of the National Honor Society where she's the Historian, Senior Class Vice-President, Student Leadership Advisory Council, and Link Leader. Also, Addison is a North High School student athlete participating in Volleyball as a captain and Academic All-State, and Girls Track in high jump and long jump. She will be attending the University of Louisville in the fall where she will be studying Exercise Science.
Davinn Bacon, Central High School
Davinn is an exceptional student who is hard working, strives to do his best each and every day, always has a positive attitude and pushes himself academically. As a senior, he is currently taking three AP/College Credit courses and plans on pursuing a degree in psychology after graduation. Davinn is a member of the Central AVID program and has utilized this experience to help him overcome challenges and explore opportunities available to him. Davinn is a great example of how hard work, strong work ethic and determination can lead to success both academically and personally.
