The Weeknd is taking a page out of Selena Gomez‘s post-breakup playbook.

The “Starboy” crooner, 27, was spotted with an ex of his own: Bella Hadid. The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye) was photographed leaving the 21-year-old model’s apartment in New York City this week. Sources tell E! News the pair, who split one year ago, are “hanging out” again.

“Bella and Abel have been in contact since Abel and Selena split, but they are not back together,” an insider claims. “Abel reached out to Bella asking to hang out and catch up, and she decided to see him and see where things go. She knows that if they don’t date again, they can at least be good friends.”

Their rekindled friendship comes in the wake of Gomez, 25, giving Justin Bieber, 23, another chance. However, Jelena really one-upped them in the news this week by kissing (!) in public. The Weeknd and the “Bad Liar” singer broke up in October after 10 months of dating.

When Gomez and the Weeknd first got together it irked Hadid, who had split with the musician about a month before. The Victoria’s Secret model unfollowed both of them on social media and was reportedly unhappy at the coupling.

“It was my first breakup … and so public,” she explained to Teen Vogue this year. “As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily. It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through.”

Hadid added, “But I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him. Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”

While the Weeknd and Hadid might be hanging out again, it appears the singer doesn’t want to “catch up” with only one woman. Last week, he was pictured hanging out with Yovanna Ventura — ironically, a former flame of Bieber’s — and he’s been spotted getting flirty with a few different women since getting back on the dating scene.
