This Wedding Editorial Will Make You Dream of the Bahamas

Cold weather is not my jam, and having spent the past week in London where the temps were much lower than ideal, this beach Bahama wedding editorial photographed by Simply Sarah is literally my dream. Molly McKinley Designs created a casual, modern affair inspired by the existing aesthetic of The Cove Eleuthera, Bahamas. My favorite part is the foraged floral details by Boy Meets Girl Weddings...or maybe its the dreamy stationery by Lazywood Lane. I can't choose! It's all so good.

From Simply Sarah Photography... The Cove Eleuthera is the perfect backdrop for a Caribbean wedding. The architecture and decor are crisp and clean, but it still feels like home. In planning this shoot, we wanted to keep true to the resort's casual modern style, so the design felt like an extension of the beauty that already existed there. Our invitation suite from Lazywood Lane felt modern and fresh, without a lot of calligraphy. My favorite touch was the abstract drawing of Eleuthera! The vellum invitation over the textured leaf paper made the suite different and interesting. We decided to set up the ceremony down on one of the island's small beaches. Clear ghost chairs allowed a full view of the ocean. Our florist created an organic "garden" in the sand with local greenery, opened white roses, and tall sea oats from the island. The sea oats played with the island breeze, dancing back and forth. We wanted to enhance the natural beauty of the Bahamas and our couple, and this ceremony did just that. The reception was intimate and incorporated more organic textures. We set our table underneath the palms at The Cove, which felt even more magical as the sun began to set. The pathways throughout the property glowed with ambient light. Our florist found some beautiful and interesting textures on the island to incorporate into the tablescape. The napkins were tied with woven rope and oyster shells, for a subtle beachy touch. Black minimalist candelabras kept true to the design of The Cove and added height. A gauzy runner woven with greenery added a feminine, romantic feel.
