LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Entergy Corp. says more than 15,000 customers are without power in Arkansas' Pulaski County as severe thunderstorms roll through the area.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory through Tuesday afternoon as the storms continued to dump rain on the capital city and surrounding areas. Forecasters say the thunderstorms brought very heavy rainfall to Little Rock, with one gauge recording 1 inch of rain in 30 minutes in the Heights neighborhood.
Forecasters say runoff from the excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding, particularly in areas with poor drainage.
Areas likely to be affected by the minor flooding are: downtown, west and southwest Little Rock, North Little Rock, Sweet Home, Pinnacle Mountain State Park and Prothro Junction, among other areas.
