MS Weather: Flood watch in effect until Saturday
Severe thunderstorms are in the forecast for Friday, according to the National Weather Service for Jackson, Mississippi.

A Flash Flood Warning continues for Jackson, Clinton and Pearl until 3:45 p.m.
Flash Flood Warning: Friday, 11:29 a.m. update
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Crystal Springs, Hazlehurst and Mendenhall until 2:15 p.m.
Flash Flood Warning: Friday, 10:55 p.m. update
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Jackson, Clinton and Pearl until 12:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
However, as cooler air moves in from the north, the threat for severe weather and flooding will continue to decrease for Central Mississippi. Areas south of Interstate 20 still have a slight risk for severe weather.
North Mississippi weather threat canceled: Friday, 9 a.m. update
The threat of severe weather to north Mississippi has been canceled, MEMA said Friday. Severe storms are still possible for central and south Mississippi today and overnight. Storms could produce damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.
Mississippi will likely see areas of flash flooding today with several inches of rain expected. Some roads may be flooded or closed.

Heavy rain: Friday, 7:20 a.m. update
Heavy rainfall is expected with several rounds storms today into tonight, said the National Weather Service for Jackson. Some areas could receive between two to four inches of rain, with locally higher amounts possibly resulting in flash flooding and minor river flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect until 3 a.m. Saturday morning.
Severe weather is possible along and south of the Highway 82 corridor. The main threats continue to be damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes.
Severe storms forecast: Thursday, 8:40 a.m. update
Severe storms could last from Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning, according to Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. Storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, hail, and tornadoes.
