WEATHER AWARE: Parts of Columbus and Midland still without power

(WRBL) — After strong storms passed through early Friday morning, sections of Columbus and Midland are still without power.

As of 1:53 p.m. 51 Columbus and 482 Midland residents are still without power.

According to Georgia Power, officials are evaluating the situation.

Hail:

  • Ellaville, Schley Ga: Quarter-size hail at GA-26 and N Broad St. (5/9)

Wind:

  • 1NE Robert G. Pitts Ai Lee County, AL: Tree and cable lines down at Cunningham Dr (5/9).

  • 1 E Monterey Heights Lee County , AL: Tree down on lee road 226/430 (5/9).

  • Wind Gust of 54mph recorded at Auburn Airport (10:25pm 10/9)

  • Cuthbert Randolph County, Ga: Tree limbs down blocking the road on SR 50 before Girard Street (5/10).

  • Lamar Road Sumter County, Ga: Power lines down, Lamar Rd CLOSED while line is repaired and trees are moved.

  • Harris Rd, Harris County, Ga: Power line down, Harris Rd CLOSED while line is repaired and trees are moved.

  • Numerous trees down in Tuskegee with damage  to power lines. The front entrance of Tuskegee University along Old Montgomery Rd was damaged (5/9).
