Weather Aware this morning with added inches of rainfall and isolated severe storms

Columbus, GA. (WRBL)-WEATHER AWARE: 3-2 PM The storms will fire up with an area of low pressure along the front, which is draped across Interstate I-85.

The strongest level of storms, which will produce torrential rainfall already on the rain-soaked areas from Sunday will get an additional 2″ + from the recent 3-5″. This of course will lead to more local flooding across many roadways and streams.

Embedded severe thunderstorms with isolated damaging wind and hail are very likely, with a tornado threat especially south and east of Columbus just before daybreak and through the early morning hours.

Partial clearing will take place for the commute home. A breezy cooler Tuesday and plenty of sunshine will be around until our next system this Saturday sweeps through with more rainfall.
