WEATHER ALERT DAY: Another round of afternoon storms ahead of a perfect weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Most of yesterday’s activity was in the morning, once the initial storms were over at 8 a.m., there was not much else observed apart from light showers in the early afternoon. No nearby thunderstorms along the Grand Strand therefore no rain delay yesterday at the Myrtle Beach Classic.

Another round of scattered strong to severe thunderstorms is slated for this afternoon as a cold front pushes through. The timing for the Pee Dee is between 3-5 p.m. and then along the Grand Strand between 5-8 p.m. Tornadoes chances are very low, and the severe outlook is similar to yesterday’s with the severe hail threat up to 15%.

High temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s. Areas of rain will see cooling temperatures. Partly cloudy and temperatures plummet into the mid to upper-50s!

This front will pack a punch temperature-wise and bring drier, comfortable air for Saturday and Mother’s Day. The air will be extremely comfortable. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper-70s tomorrow and upper-70s to 80 on Sunday and Monday.

Mostly sunny on Monday with clouds increasing Monday night. Tuesday will have widespread rain.
