WCSO: Man charged with assault, hit vehicles, house with truck

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Kingsport man was charged with aggravated assault after hitting multiple vehicles and an occupied home with a truck in Gray on Thursday, police report.

The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to Edgewood Drive in Gray regarding an alleged domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies found that a man, identified by police as Brandon Lovett, 40, intentionally drove into two unoccupied vehicles and a house at the address, according to the WCSO.

Witnesses reportedly told police Lovett arrived at the home in a large pickup truck and began revving his engine. Lovett was previously restrained as part of an order of protection from having contact with three occupants inside the home, including two juveniles, the report stated.

Lovett then began using the truck to hit the vehicles in the driveway and the house, the WCSO reported. He allegedly fled the scene once the truck became disabled.

Lovett was located on foot by deputies shortly after. He allegedly attempted to flee from deputies but was apprehended.

Crime Watch

The vehicles and house received major damage during the incident. No injuries were reported.

Lovett was charged with the following:

  • Aggravated assault (four counts)

  • Reckless endangerment involving a deadly weapon (four counts)

  • Violating an order of protection (three counts)

  • Felony vandalism (three counts)

  • Driving under the influence

He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center. As of Friday, Lovett is being held without bond pending a hearing.

The WCSO stated the investigation remains ongoing and more charges will likely be added.
