WCSO: Man charged with aggravated stalking, evading arrest

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Jonesborough man faces multiple charges, including aggravated stalking and evading arrest, after he violated an order of protection on Monday, police report.

The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office reports deputies responded to a violation order of protection in the 300 block of C.D. Williams Road.

Witnesses at the residence told police a man, identified as William Ramsey, 36, entered the home and ran when deputies arrived, the WCSO stated.

The victim reportedly had an active order of protection against Ramsey.

Deputies later found Ramsey hiding under a mattress on the front porch, the WCSO stated. He then allegedly attempted to run back into the home.

Ramsey was then tased and taken into custody, according to the release.

He was charged with violation order of protection and resisting stop/evading arrest.

Crime Watch

On April 5, Ramsey allegedly broke into the home on C.D. Williams Road and stole multiple items, the WCSO said. A warrant for burglary, aggravated stalking and violation order of protection was issued against Ramsey.

The warrant was served while Ramsey was being booked into the Washington County Detention Center.

As of Tuesday, Ramsey is being held on a $31,000 bond. He is set to appear in court on April 30.
