The National Weather Service says all tornado warnings within the WCIA 3 viewing area have expired.

Thunderstorm warnings continue for Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, and Jasper Counties. Watches continue for Edgar, Effingham, and Shelby Counties.

Flood advisories have been issues for Fayette, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties.

Building collapses and down trees have been reported by Latham Fire Chief William Childs in Logan County due to a tornado that blew through the area earlier this evening. A semi roll-over was also seen on IL-121 in the Decatur area, towards Latham.

Meanwhile, Illinois State Police reported three crashes along I-72 West between mileposts 130 and 139 in Macon County. They say the crashes are property damage only but are obstructing lanes. Officials urge motorists to avoid travel if possible in severe weather, or seek an alternative route.


Update at 8:05 p.m.

Macon County’s tornado warning has now expired, according to the National Weather Service. A severe thunderstorm warning will remain until 8:15 p.m. Local residents are reporting power outages, likely due to extreme winds.

Tornado warnings continue in Effingham and Jasper Counties until 8:15 p.m.

Thunderstorm warnings continue in areas including Crawford, Clark, Cumberland, Piatt, and DeWitt Counties.


Update at 7:46 p.m.

An extreme tornado warning has been issued for Macon County until 8 p.m., and Effingham and Jasper Counties until 8:15 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are currently covering DeWitt, Piatt and Shelby Counties until 8:15 p.m.

Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Edgar, Fayette, Jasper, Macoupin, Montgomery, and Sangamon Counties are under severe thunderstorm watch.
