A way-too-deep look into why Britney Spears regrammed Cameron Diaz' old photo of tomatoes

Why did Britney Spears say "baby one more time" to this photo of tomatoes?

That's the question on everyone's mind as we look for something (anything!) to distract us from the hellscape we are forced to call our reality. See, Britney Spears didn't just Instagram any old photo of tomatoes. She Instagrammed a picture of tomatoes that Cameron Diaz posted 42 weeks ago.

Now, an important fact to consider is that Diaz, unlike Spears, is an infrequent Instagrammer. She's only posted nine times since the Produce Post and the last photo was an Election Day selfie. So the notion that Spears, as her caption suggests, merely thought, "Hm, what's Cameron Diaz up to?" and discovered her garden snap in a matter of seconds checks out. 

But, like an onion Cameron Diaz might grow in her garden, this story has layers. Spears' ex was Justin Timberlake, who dated Diaz after the denim-clad pair broke up. 

Maybe this is her way of saying she's moved on. She has beautiful children, a cute dancer boyfriend, enviable handstand capabilities, and a hit show in Vegas. She's not still pining after the dude from Trolls like everyone thinks she is, and she's finally able to admit in public that she finds certain iconic '90s rom-coms hilarious. 

Or maybe it's just a nice photo of some produce.
