Waverly man arrested on burglary, trespassing charges

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WETM) – A Waverly man was arrested on multiple charges after a burglary that took place this morning in Franklin Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Bradford County, Timothy Vanhousen, of Waverly, was arrested on one count of burglary, a grade 1 felony, and one count of criminal trespassing, a grade 3 felony, after a burglary that took place around 9:55 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, at a home on Route 414 in Franklin Township.

Police say they headed to the home after receiving a report of an active burglary when on the way, they were flagged down by the victim of the incident. The victim then told police that the vehicle that was traveling in front of them was involved in the burglary at their home.

Police then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by Vanhousen on South Main Street in Towanda.

Police say that Vanhousen told them he was coming from a home in Dushore, but after police told him that they saw him come from a home in Franklin Township, he admitted that was true.

The victim of the incident spoke to police and showed footage of someone who was wearing the same clothing and driving the same vehicle as Vanhousen entering their home. He was then arrested for criminal trespassing.

At the police station, the victim then told police that they found more footage that depicted Vanhousen leaving their home and coming back with a weapon.

Vanhousen then reportedly left and was confronted by the victim’s father, who told police that Vanhousen was the same person that police spoke with at the traffic stop.

The victim stated that when they got back to their house, they had discovered that a filing cabinet had been rummaged through.
