Waverly’s LaForrest to wrestle at D’Youville University

WAVERLY, N.Y. (WETM) – Waverly’s MacKenzie LaForrest made her college plans official Wednesday.

In front of family and friends at the Waverly High School library the standout wrestler signed to compete at D’Youville University in Buffalo. LaForrest became the first Wolverine girls wrestler to win a New York State Championship last year as a junior and is primed to take her talents to the next big level.

MacKenzie was also a Section IV Champion and racked up a (21-3) overall record during her senior season. LaForrest finished second in the state this year at the New York State Girls Invitational.
