Waupaca County Sheriff's Office looking for 'buffalo on the loose' near Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG − A Monday afternoon Facebook post from the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office that reported a "buffalo on the loose" has gotten a lot of attention from users on the social media platform.

With nearly 250 reactions, 100 comments and more than 800 shares, commenters have shared ideas of where the animal may have come from nearby as well as joking "don't pet the fluffy cows!"

Someone spotted the buffalo on Waupaca County E, north of Ogdensburg, about 40 miles northwest of Appleton, according to the Sheriff's Office. Officials ask that drivers use caution on the road in the area.

If you see the buffalo, do not approach it as they are unpredictable, the Sheriff's Office said. Instead, contact the Sheriff's Office at 715-258-4466.
