Watkins Glen man sentenced for selling meth in Schuyler County

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) – A Watkins Glen man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to selling meth on Jan. 18 in Schuyler County Court.

According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, Michael L. Doane, 59, of Watkins Glen, was sentenced on Thursday, March 14, by Hon. Matthew C. Hayden on two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, both class B felonies, for selling meth on multiple occasions in Schuyler County.

Doane was sentenced as a second felony offender to four years in state prison plus one and a half years post-release supervision on each count. These sentences will be served consecutively, eight years in state prison plus three years post-release supervision.

He has also been ordered to pay $600 restitution and forfeited $3,855.

This case was investigated by the New York State Police, including a search warrant that was performed at Doane’s home.
