Missing person found dead in Mountain Island Lake: Huntersville Fire

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The body of a missing man was recovered following on Mountain Island Lake Tuesday evening, officials told Queen City News.

According to Medic, emergency crews responded to the Neck Road Boat Ramp at the end of Duke Access Road. around 5 p.m. May 21.

At 9 p.m., the Huntersville Fire Department said that the missing person was a fisherman who fell off a rock near Latta Nature Preserve. His body was recovered from the lake around 8 p.m. and the scene turned over to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Last summer, a missing swimmer was found dead in Mountain Island after a dayslong search.
