(KRON) — A water main break was reported Friday morning in Mill Valley, officials from Marin Water said. It broke around 10:40 a.m. in the area of 11 Knoll Lane — affecting 23 multi-unit services, three fire lines and three hydrants.

Officials say water service is expected to be restored at around 8 p.m. Friday. As of 4:30 p.m., Knoll Lane has been shut down. It is expected to reopen by 11 p.m.

A 14-inch cast iron pipeline was damaged, and Marin Water staff is working to repair it. Those repairs are expected to take between eight and 10 hours.

The location of the water main break on Knoll Lane is located near the Highway 131 and Highway 101 intersection.
