Second Avenue remains closed after large water main break

A busy road in Pittsburgh remains closed because of a large water main break.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, the break is causing closures around Second Avenue.

Second Avenue is closed between Technology Drive and the Armstrong Tunnel. Brady Street to Second is also closed from Forbes Avenue.

Water service was restored around 5 a.m. Monday, but the roads remain closed.

Swedish startup ZeroPoint, armed with €5 million ($5.5M USD) in new funding, wants to help them out with a novel memory compression technique at the nanosecond scale — and yes, it's exactly as complicated as it sounds. The concept is this: losslessly compress data just before it enters RAM, and decompress it afterwards, effectively widening the memory channel by 50% or more just by adding one small piece to the chip.
