Families at Waterview Elementary received the following email from the school.

Good afternoon, Waterview families –

This afternoon, shortly before dismissal, administration received a report that a student had brought a water gun to school. After a search, it was found that the student had brought two water guns to school in their backpack. While these are toys, it is still against School Board policy to have any lookalike or replica weapon on school grounds. Appropriate disciplinary action is being taken here at the school level, and I ask that you please talk with your children and remind them that weapons of any kind – toys included– are not allowed at school. In addition, please help support this effort by checking your child’s backpack before school to ensure only appropriate items make their way to our classrooms. I thank you for your understanding and your continued support of Waterview Elementary School.

Thank you.”
