Watch Tom Brady go for his eighth Super Bowl berth on the Yahoo Sports app

The AFC and NFC championships kick off this weekend, and you can watch them LIVE and FREE on the Yahoo Sports app. Who’s playing? What’s at stake? We’ve got you covered right here.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS:
What you need to know

Who and when are they playing?
The Patriots welcome the Jacksonville Jaguars to Gillette Stadium Foxborough, Mass. starting at 3:05 p.m. ET.

Who’s favored?
The Patriots are the favorites to burn through Jacksonville and reach their eighth Super Bowl. As strong as Jacksonville’s defense is, the Patriots remain the Patriots, capable of sensing weakness and picking apart any team this side of the Avengers. There’s just one problem …

How hurt is Tom Brady?
We don’t know, but all indications are that the Patriots quarterback might be suffering some ill effects on his throwing hand. He hardly practiced at all this week, and as much as we’d like to think this is the Patriots playing games, you don’t hold your quarterback out of practice for gamesmanship reasons. Something’s up with Brady, but we won’t know until Sunday how it’ll affect the dynasty’s run for a sixth ring.

What do the numbers say?
The Patriots are 10-1 all-time against Jacksonville, with the Jaguars’ one win coming 20 years ago in the playoffs. New England is in the AFC championship for the seventh straight season, the longest streak in the NFL since 1970. For a complete preview of the game, go here, and then tune in on the Yahoo Sports app on Sunday.
