The first trailer for the action-Western film The Lone Ranger has arrived, featuring a masked Armie Hammer as the title character and Johnny Depp as his stalwart sidekick Tonto.
A raging gun fight, speeding trains and galloping horses fill the intense promo for the Walt Disney Pictures flick, which is slated for a July 3 release after experiencing many setbacks.

Hammer debuted the clip at The Tonight Show, giving people a sneak peek at producer Jerry Bruckheimer's and director Gore Verbinski's adaptation of the classic story.

Walt Disney Pictures -- which describes the film as "a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor" -- this week also released a movie poster with Tonto, the "Native American spirit warrior," as the main focus.
