WATCH: This pass suggests John Wall might be a literal wizard

John Wall came into 2017 on a roll. The All-Star point guard had averaged 24.3 points, 13 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and one block per game over his last three games to help his Washington Wizards continue their recent surge, earning himself Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors in the process.

Early in Monday’s matchup with the Houston Rockets, led by Western Conference Player of the Week James Harden, Wall set about keeping the good times rolling and proving his playmaking bona fides with a pick-and-roll pocket pass to running buddy Marcin Gortat that had to be seen — and re-watched a few dozen times — to be believed:

It’s hard to blame Montrezl Harrell and Eric Gordon for looking stunned that Wall’s no-look lefty between-the-legs bounce pass made it through the paint to a cutting Gortat safely because … y’know, go back and re-read the description of that dime. This is the kind of stuff that the former No. 1 overall pick’s capable of when he’s in working order and in a rhythm with his teammates. He wasn’t that way to start the season, but he is now, and the Wizards — and those of who like watching dope stuff unfold out of nowhere — are reaping the benefits.
