Watch a Shelby Raptor tear up sand dunes

Even though the Ford Raptor is an off-roading beast, most of them live their lives pounding pavement in cities. That's why we're always glad to see someone using a Raptor for what its built for, which is exactly what Shelby did with one of its Baja Raptors.

In the video above, a driver hops in a dark gray Shelby Baja Raptor and takes to some desert sand dunes. Jumps, rooster tails, and big drifts ensue. And it all happens with one of the flashiest custom Raptors around.

The Shelby Raptor isn't all flash, either. A cold air intake, upgraded intercooler, and Shelby ECU tune give it an extra 75 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque over a stock Ford Raptor. It also gets adjustable Fox shocks. If you want one, Shelby will happily sell you a brand-new, pre-converted one for right around $117,000. Or they'll convert your current one for about $50,000.

Whether some performance upgrades and visual enhancements are worth not one, but two, base model Raptors is up to you. Either way, you can at least enjoy watching one playing in the sand.
