Watch Ryan Gosling Drive Around the 'Blade Runner 2' Set in Support of a Good Cause

Ryan Gosling is already earning raves this fall for his starring turn opposite Emma Stone in this December’s old-school musical La La Land. Yet while Hollywood may be focusing on the burgeoning award-season hoopla, the 35-year-old star has already moved on to his next project, Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated follow-up to Ridley Scott’s seminal 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner . And in a new video, the actor takes a spin around the set in support of a humanitarian cause.

In a new minute-long video from Omaze (viewable above), Gosling welcomes viewers on a golf-cart ride around the Budapest location where he and Harrison Ford (star of the original) are filming Villeneuve’s very-secretive sequel. The reason, as Gosling explains, is that he’s partnered with Omaze to launch a promotion in which those who donate to one of the organization’s three causes (details here) have the chance to be randomly selected to fly out to Budapest to stay in a four-star hotel, take a tour of the set, watch the cast and crew film a scene, and then have a private lunch with Gosling. Plus, by donating through Omaze, doners also have the opportunity to nab a host of other Blade Runner goodies, including t-shirts, an origami unicorn paperweight, and autographed vinyl soundtracks and posters.

While Gosling’s video shrewdly refrains from revealing clues about the film — except that, you know, the Budapest set looks pretty big and everything important is being kept indoors — it does make clear that he, Ford and Villeneuve are hard at work on the sequel. Co-starring Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto, the still-untitled Blade Runner 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 6, 2017.
