Watch: National Infantry Museum holds dedication ceremony for replica Vietnam Wall

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Veterans across the Chattahoochee Valley are gathering at the National Infantry Museum on Friday morning as a dedication ceremony takes place for a replica Vietnam Wall.

The ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. with U.S. Army Gen. Barry McCaffrey as the keynote speaker. A video of the full ceremony can be watched at the top of this article.

This wall has traveled to more than 200 cities for nearly two decades before making its home at the museum back in 2014. However, the Georgia sun faded the replica until acrylics had to be placed over it so names could be clearly seen.

With help from the state of Georgia, a $1 million upgrade on the replica was finished Wednesday. Names of more than 58,000 soldiers, sailors and airmen lost in the Vietnam War are etched into the Georgia granite.
