TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Major League Baseball player was almost wiped out by a giant racing sausage.

During Tuesday’s game between the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers, center fielder, Byron Buxton, was almost taken out by one of the mascot’s during a field break after the sixth inning.

The video shows the Brewers’ Famous Racing Sausages lined up, ready to race, when Buxton exits the dugout, in the direct path of a mascot.

Buxton, oblivious to the sausage race, was quickly yanked back into the Twins’ dugout by a fellow teammate, as the giant bratwurst charged down the third base line.

The Famous Racing Sausages is a Milwaukee tradition that began in the 1990s, consisting of five racing weenies; Bratwurst (#1), Polish (#2), Italian (#3), Hot Dog (#4), and Chorizo (#5). Click here to read more about the team’s iconic race.

The Brewers pulled through against the Twins in a 3-2 victory.
