Watch Ken Block carve donuts in a '91 Ford Escort Cosworth

When we last checked in with Ken Block, he was climbing Pikes Peak in his 1,400-horsepower Hoonicorn V2 rally car in the "Climbkhana" video. A couple of weeks before that, he was tearing up the desert in "Terrakhana." For his latest project, the head Hoonigan tackles a homologation 1991 Ford Escort Cosworth Group A rally car.

The rally car is built off a slightly larger Ford Sierra chassis affixed with Escort body panels, making the formerly front-wheel-drive Escort into all-wheel-drive. It's got a 2.0-liter engine that Block estimates generates between 350 and 400 horsepower connected to a seven-speed gearbox. The curio also is replete with random switches, a "BMX brake," side exhaust, door-mounted trip computer and a mysterious green apple under the hood that stumps even the Hoonigan team.

Cosworth, the English powertrain and electronics supplier, was last heard to be planning to build a factory in the Detroit area to supply a "high-performance road car" manufacturer. You can check out the Escort Cosworth and the donuts Block performs with it in the video below.
