Janet Jackson is undoubtedly one of music's biggest icons, with a very storied and rich career spanning over 40 years. For the first time ever, she is pulling back the curtain on her private life and most intimate moments in a brand new documentary coming to Sky and streaming service NOW on January 31.

The four-hour documentary is told in Janet's words as she travels back to her hometown of Georgia, Indiana to where it all began. The star will reflect on her extraordinary career, discussing everything from becoming a mother later in life, the controversy surrounding her brother Michael Jackson, and her infamous Super Bowl appearance with Justin Timberlake in 2004.

The documentary team had five years of access to Janet where she shared her life story in great detail – they also have interviews from some of Janet's closest friends, siblings and peers including Randy Jackson, Tito Jackson, Rebbie Jackson, Mariah Carey, Rev. Al Sharpton, Samuel L Jackson, Missy Elliot, Paula Abdul, and many more.

"To get the opportunity to tell her story and delve through never-before-seen personal archives has been fascinating."
