It seems no matter where the Dutch-Moroccan model Imaan Hammam goes, her very own spotlight follows. Such is the case on the streets of Manhattan, where she romped around town for New York Fashion Week, and in Instagram shares from faraway islands like Bali and Grenada—armed with a bevy of fellow supers by her side, of course. Now the Vogue cover girl is at it again, this time live from her bathroom, where the sun seeps through an open window and effortlessly illuminates her in all the right places: the apples of her sky-high cheekbones, tip of her nose, and décolletage.

Hard to believe then that the camera is catching the bare-faced beauty right after a grueling schedule of back-to-back runway shows, fashion appearances, and late-night parties: “A long week of work and no sleep,” she says. The good news? She has a secret behind looking the way she does.

“I’m from Morocco, where we use a lot of oils: argan oil, olive oil, rose oil,” Hammam says of her tried-and-true skin-care routine. “Since I was a baby, I’ve been using oils on my face and my hair.” As her cloud of onyx curls flop from side to side, framing her newly cleansed caramel skin, Hammam proceeds to apply four types of “great smelling” moisturizers: a rose oil and thick serum, which she rubs in with a stainless steel facial massage wand culled from Amazon; a generous serving of rose eye serum, which she lets sit on her face (“It takes all the bags away,” she says of her under-eyes); and a balancing face cream that is packed with vitamin C.

Next up, brows, which she brushes up in an attempt to “make them look a little rough,” she says of the bushy style, before applying mascara and a little concealer with her hands as a light foundation. As she ties her hair back into a “cute little pouf-y,” she recalls her mother and beauty role model, who “didn’t care what people thought of her—she wore her hair in a curly big ’fro, she wore colorful things . . . just be bold!” Then she sweeps bronzer and highlighter onto her cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin (a backstage beauty trick, she says), and taps her favorite clear lip balm onto her naturally pinkish mouth. “Super-shiny and healthy,” she proclaims, “is cute.”

After a little hydrating spray on her face and hair, which she unties and allows to fall every which way, Hammam shakes out her signature shag—which is big, all natural, and all her: “I love it,” she says. And with that, two kisses, a wave of her hand, and a promise to see you soon, she’s off. Lights out.
