This afternoon-pick-me-up of a laugh is going to require a little context, so bear with us; it's worth it: Philippe Reines, a former aide to Hillary Clinton and the man chosen for that dystopic task of standing in for Donald Trump during Clinton's debate prep sessions over the summer, tweeted a behind-the-scenes video this afternoon in which he's shown literally chasing after Clinton in an attempt to hug her on "stage."

"Not easy to avoid the unwanted Trump hug," he wrote, a reference to recent reports that now-former FBI director James Comey once tried to evade an embrace during a public meeting with Trump because he didn't think it would be appropriate to suggest such close ties between the FBI and the president whose campaign ties to Russia it is investigating.

Comey, according to his friend Benjamin Wittes, even tried to blend into the blue drapes behind him on the occasion of the hug-turned-very-awkward-handshake. To no avail! Trump pulled him in in front of a million cameras, anyway. Then he fired him.

Anyway! Reines continued, explaining that his almost-hug incident was a "favorite moment from debate prep." Months later, all we can do is follow Clinton's example-if Donald Trump ever approaches you with open arms, first laugh in his face, then run.
