"Your science is wrong and your facts are wrong"

On Wednesday, a study saying that women are now the primary or sole earners in 40 percent of households with children was released by the Pew Social & Demographic Trends Project.

In response, Red State editor Erick Erickson decided to put his science hat on and dropped this insight on Fox News Business:

When you look at biology — when you look at the natural world — the roles of a male and a female in society and in other animals, the male typically is the dominant role. The female, it's not antithesis, or it's not competing, it's a complementary role. We've lost the ability to have complementary relationships... and it's tearing us apart. [Fox News Business]

It turns out that Fox News employs some of these females, including one named Megyn Kelly. She was not happy with Mr. Erickson.

Not only did she deny being an "emo liberal" (as Erickson labeled his detractors), she also ripped apart his claim that science was on his side, lifting a piece of paper and saying, "This is a list of studies saying your science is wrong and your facts are wrong." She pointed to past policies in which pseudoscience was used to prop up the status quo:

In this country in the ’50s and ’60s there were huge numbers of people that believed that the children of interracial marriages were biologically inferior and that is why it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry in some states in the country up until 1967. And they said it was science and fact if you were the child of a black father and white mother or vice versa you were inferior and not set up for success. Tell that to Barack Obama. [Fox News]

Yes, that is conservative Kelly invoking Barack Obama in a positive context. Her lambasting of Erickson earned her the admiration of women and emo liberals on Twitter and elsewhere:

I feel like Megyn Kelly just ripped off her rubber face mask and revealed herself to be smart.
