We've got the exclusive first trailer for Sky's new original movie 10 Lives, which marks the debut movie role for Mo Gilligan.

The animation sees Gilligan voice pampered cat Beckett who is living a life of luxury after being rescued by kind-hearted student Rose. That is until Beckett carelessly loses his ninth life and finds himself in the reincarnation department.

Despite being a "repeated offender" and "possible sociopath", Beckett is enrolled into a new programme that sees him given nine new lives, but as nine different animals including a fish, a dog and a parrot.

Could his new lease on life turn Beckett from a self-absorbed pet to a self-sacrificing hero? You can find out when 10 Lives premieres on Sky Cinema on Friday, April 5.

10 Lives also stars Bridgerton's Simone Ashley as Beckett's owner Rose, Zayn Malik as a pair of goons, Bill Nighy as the villainous Professor Craven and Big Boys star Dylan Llewellyn as Rose's ex Larry.

The movie also features new songs from Zayn Malik, including a duet with Simone Ashley. Talking to Variety earlier this year, director Chris Jenkins admitted he was "apprehensive" initially to cast Malik, but quickly realised he didn't need to be.

"Sometimes people come in with an entourage and you can barely find the real person underneath, which is what I love to do. Zayn was the complete opposite. We bonded immediately," he praised.

"I knew what I had to do going in was to have a good time, like two guys just having a laugh really, and then I would push him for more emotions. But he's really funny. He plays those guys with the pathos that I really wanted, which was, they are acting as bad guys but they're not really bad."

10 Lives premiered earlier this year at Sundance and stands at a decent 80% after its first reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

It joins an impressive slate of Sky original movies this year, including Ferrari, which is available to watch now, and The Beekeeper, which arrives this Friday (March 8).

10 Lives will be released on Sky Cinema on April 5.
