WATCH: Escaped baby goat sends Florida deputies on chase

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It’s only fair to call this Florida deputy the G.O.A.T after she rescued not one, but two goats last month.

Deputy Hammons and Deputy Peguero with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on the morning of April 26 regarding a goat that had escaped its enclosure.

“Billy the Kid” was feeling “baaa-d” that day, sending the deputies on a brief chase around the area, the sheriff’s office said.

Body camera video from Deputy Hammons shows her chasing the baby goat and even “baaa-ing” back at him.

The roughly five-minute pursuit of the “hoove-nile delinquent” ended with the help of a good Samaritan, who then said another goat who had just given birth the day prior had her head stuck in a fence, and couldn’t get to her newborn.

The mama goat was trapped in a chain-link fence in a pen. Deputy Hammons untangled the fencing to free the animal so she could get back to her kid.
