WATCH: Chip and Joanna Gaines Are Making a Big Addition to their Waco Farmhouse

Chip and Joanna Gaines are growing green!

The Fixer Upper stars are taking a break from helping Waco, Texas, homeowners renovate their dream house to focus on a project even closer to home: the garden at their family farmhouse. The couple, who recently announced they’re expecting baby number five, are overhauling their backyard bounty in a forthcoming HGTV special, Chip and Joanna’s Family Garden Project.

In the clip above, the contractor-designer duo goes down the checklist for their latest addition.

“You need me to build a garden,” Chip says. Joanna agrees. “You need me to build a garden shed. You need me to build a chicken run around the garden and the garden shed.”

“And a chicken coop,” Joanna adds.

Their 40 acres of land are already filled with pets, including goats, dogs and a new kitten. The new poultry-centric build, which will boast an old-school charm thanks to Joanna’s signature antique touches, will be a gathering hub for even more fowl friends for animal-lover Chip and kids Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7.

Although Joanna already has existing blooms on the property, which she loves to tend to with the help of Ella and Emmia Kay, their next plantings are set to include edible goodies like fruits, vegetables and herbs, as well as more flowers.

“So I’m the crazy animal guy and you’re the crazy plant lady,” Chip jokes to his wife.

“It’s better than hoarder,” Joanna quips.

Chip and Joanna’s Family Garden Project airs February 13 at 9:00 p.m. EST on HGTV.
