WATCH: Bear tries breaking into FHP vehicle

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A near break-in caught on camera could have ended bear-y badly.

The Florida Highway Patrol released the surveillance footage on Thursday, which shows a black bear attempting to get into a trooper’s vehicle in Collier County.

The clawed and dangerous animal bites the door handle on the passenger side, trying to get into the car.

In a post by a local news outlet, SWFL Uncensored wrote, “Crimestoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a bear that is wanted in connection with an attempted vehicle break-in of a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle.”

Some Facebook users joined in on the satire manhunt post saying, “Talk about ‘“’Bearing Arms'” and “He wanted them donuts.”
