Watch an angry jogger caught on camera throwing a homeless man’s belongings in a bin
This is the shocking moment a jogger takes a homeless man’s belongings and dumps them in a bin.
The jogger also threw some of the man’s possessions in Lake Merritt in Oakland, California.
Video footage has emerged of a shirtless man rifling through the homeless man’s stuff, before walking over to a nearby rubbish bin and putting it inside.
A witness uploaded the video to Facebook, where it has been viewed more than 250,000 times.
In the video, the jogger responds to onlookers who complain about him dumping the man’s things.
He says: “I’m picking up trash, what do you want me to do? Look at this. It’s disgusting.”
A crowdfunding campaign has been set up for the homeless man and has raised more than $9,000.
The video was filmed last month by JJ Harris, who told the BBC he “saw someone throwing a large pile of blankets into the lake”.
He said: “I didn’t know what was going on at first.
“I know a homeless man in that location. He never bothers anybody.

“It didn’t make sense why somebody would throw his stuff away. He wasn’t even there.”
The homeless man was identified as “Drew” on a GoFundMe page set up by Kenzie Smith.
Mr Smith wrote: “Like the thousands of other people in the Bay Area without homes, Drew is one of our neighbours.
“We’re disgusted that someone thought it was OK to treat Drew this way and want to show him through our care that what happened to him is unacceptable.
“It’s not OK to destroy someone’s things just because they are homeless. Help us show Drew that his community is here for him and that we care.”
Mr Harris said he has been checking on Drew since the incident.
“He has a lot of new stuff,” he said. “People have been stepping up to donate.”
Police in Oakland are investigating the incident.
