Washington Twp. trustees discuss road projects
Highlights of March 18 meeting of Washington Township trustees:
Department reports
Park – Park is open. Trustees approved a motion to purchase playground mulch from Game Time for $2,040.
Zoning – Working on several new items.
Fire – As of meeting date, department had reported 110 runs. Fire Department’s annual breakfast will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7. Trustees approved a motion to spend $1,435 on new gear room door and miscellaneous hardware for doors in the station. Trustees approved motion for two physicals for new fire personnel at Ault Works totaling $522.
Road – Crew repaired ceiling in road garage, installed grindings on Daniel Street for a catch basin, hauled stone for Foxdale, and heater is complete at road garage. Trustees discussed the amount of road salt on hand and to be ordered, and trustees approved a motion to advertise for bids for the summer road program. Bids are due at noon April 15, and will be opened at 7 p.m. that night during the trustees meeting. About four miles of roads will be paved this year.
Other action
Trustees discussed a new community sign Washington Ruritan Club will build at Beechwood Playground. The township will pay for material, and Ruritans will provide the labor.
Trustees approved motion to have Buds Porta-Potty of Green furnish the portable bathroom at the park from April through October.
