Warrant issued for woman accused of killing husband with pickup truck

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A warrant has been issued for a woman accused of running over her husband with a pickup truck and killing him in a northwest Oklahoma City parking lot.

According to Oklahoma City Police, officers responded to a reported injury accident near NW 10th Street and N Rockwell Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. on April 16.

Upon arrival, responding officers found 60-year-old Lynn Morgan critically injured in a parking lot. The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

“It’s a very sad case. The couple apparently been married a very long time,” said Msgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD. “They were apparently having some type of argument.”

Investigators determined that Lynn was run over by a pickup truck driven by his wife, 66-year-old Treva Morgan, after the couple got into an argument.

After Treva pulled the truck into the parking lot, police say the decision was made that Lynn would get out and walk. Treva reportedly accelerated backward as Lynn, who was sitting in the passenger seat, stepped out of the truck.

Lynn was struck and dragged backward by the open passenger door before Treva allegedly accelerated forward, running over Lynn after he fell to the ground.

“Ultimately, it killed him. He was still alive when officers arrived, transported to an area hospital, but died later,” said Knight.

As a result of the incident, a warrant was issued for Treva Morgan on a complaint of negligent homicide.

News 4 went to Treva’s house to ask for her side of the story.

“I did not run over him, not once. They need to get their story straight,” said Treva. “We were arguing and I was driving and he got hurt and killed.”

When asked to explain what happened in her own words, Treva declined.

“I can’t until I talk to my attorney,” said Treva.

News 4 then asked Treva why was she being charged if she believed she did not commit the crime.

“Well because he died,” said Treva. “He never got ran over.”

Is there anything else you would like to say about this?

“I love my husband very much,” said Treva. “I didn’t hurt him no. On purpose, no.”
