Warming trend this week for most of Southern California

Morning clouds will keep things mild near the coast of Southern California this week but we are expecting an increase in afternoon temperatures for most of the region.

The marine layer will be thick enough Tuesday morning that drizzle is possible near the coast, especially south of Point Conception.

“A little bit of that May Gray during the morning hours and then we’ll get to our sunshine and a little bit of a warmup,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.

The biggest temperature increase will be seen the further we move inland.

“It’ll be 99 degrees in Blythe and Laughlin, so we do have some warmer weather out toward the Four Corners,” Henry said.

The afternoon high for downtown Los Angeles on Monday topped out at 70 degrees. The same high temperature is forecast for Tuesday.

Currently, the 7-Day Forecast is showing an increase in clouds this weekend but only a slight chance of showers.
