Warmer today with more clouds around

A few spotty showers passed over central Indiana Wednesday morning. Those have moved out and we’re dry for the rest of the day.

We’ve flipped the calendar over to May! On average, this is the second wettest month annually for Indianapolis. We raise the average high temperature from 69° on the 1st to 78° on the 31st. We also gain 54 minutes of daylight over the course of the month.

We will have more cloud cover around today but that won’t stop temperatures from warming up. We should see highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s this afternoon.

More hit and miss showers return Thursday morning and will last a little longer, into the early afternoon. Tomorrow will be even warmer with highs in the mid 80s.

It’s not until Friday that we will see rain coverage expand across central Indiana. Scattered rain and storms will move through Friday morning through the evening. A few patchy showers will linger into Saturday with some additional widely scattered showers on Sunday but most of the weekend will be dry.
