Warm and sunny Utah weather in store through Friday

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Thursday, Utah! The remainder of the excess moisture has been pushed out as high pressure settles in, which means warming temperatures and dry skies.

The bottom line? Warm temperatures with mostly sunny skies are in the forecast, but we are tracking a couple of systems that could spell wet weather.

A sunny day is in store with a couple of clouds here and there with temperatures running about five to 10 degrees above average. Daytime highs will reach the mid to upper 70s for most while higher terrain sees the upper 60s and warm spots hit the 80s, St. George has another day in the 90s.

The warming trend peaks tomorrow with highs in the low 80s and upper 70s for most while St. George climbs to the mid-90s.

By the weekend we’ll see temperatures begin to drop, but they’ll still float above average in the 70s. The drop is thanks to a dry cold front brushing the state. There is a chance of some isolated showers popping up as it moves through on Friday afternoon, but it’s difficult to say how it will play out for certain.

Although showers could pop up on Friday, they’ll be minor, brief, and isolated, so don’t let it ruin your Friday plans. However, we do have our eyes on another system slated to arrive late Sunday into Monday which could bring a more active pattern through Tuesday.

We’ll continue to monitor the latest developments and keep you up-to-date on our 4Warn Weather forecast both on-air and online, we are Good4Utah!
