Wanted murder suspect arrested in connection to Whittlesey Boulevard shooting

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A man wanted in connection to a deadly shooting from late March of this year was taken into custody on Thursday.

Ty’Quavious Richmond was arrested by the Columbus Police Department and charged with murder.

The charge stems back to March 24 at about 4 a.m. when police responded to shots fired in the 5400 block of Whittlesey Boulevard.

Dennie Henderson, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office at 4:54 a.m. Police say he succumbed to injuries from a gunshot wound.

Richmond’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 at 9 a.m.
